Hi, my name is Greg Rouse, my webmasters name is Bill Rishsew and together we decided to build WildernessTrip.com. With my background in the outdoors and Bill’s programming skills, we came up with the idea of using the Internet to help people successfully plan self-guided wilderness trips. We started way back in 1999 as one of the first sites to do this and we're still going today.

Basically, we wanted a resource for the do-it-yourself outdoors person that would help them experience the great outdoors on their own, the way it was meant to be. So we developed a web site that photo-documents trips with interactive maps and detailed route descriptions.

Yes there have been many copycats since that time, but we’re still here and we’ll always be free, so just select one of the outdoor activities on your left and follow it to the trip of your choice. Remember this site is continually growing, so check back often to see what’s new.
